Using visual samples and a quickening pace, the trailer hints at a relationship filled with terrible secrets ready to unravel. It invites the viewer to share in the uneasy mood of a gay couple moving into their first house. Watching will draw you close to the screen and speed up your heartbeat. In my opinion, it really captures the novel's rising suspense. Hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed piecing it together. I'm a big fan of well-constructed book trailers. Plus, a book trailer is sort of a snapshot of the mindset a book is intended to create. I started with almost three hours of footage and cut it down to three minutes. There aren't a lot of outlets for book trailers, and most writers think they're a waste of time, but I love working with video production. But I'm truly happy with the final product. Last week it felt like every second of this video was taking an hour of fiddling and formatting and coloring and rendering. I should have been working on my writing. A lot of work went into this 3-minute teaser film. It took a month, but the trailer for PIPE is finally up! Check it out.
